Is it here yet, is it here yet, is it here yet???

CCAA worked both past Saturday and Sunday, we were told. But we didn't know what goal they were trying to accomplish exactly. Well, when I turned on my computer this morning it became clear.

They had matched applications with LID through 11/1/05! Remember, our G115 LID is 10/27/05. Our agency confirmed that CCAA had sent out the referrals to various agencies and the packages should arrive to our agency middle of this week. CCAA actually went the extra mile to complete the matches prior to them closing for the holiday this week! And most of us thought we would have to wait until they return!

Our Caelyn's information is on the plane flying over the Pacific as we speak! Stay tuned...

No New News....

A little background....

Historically CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs - the main and only goverment agency for adoption) matches average 15 days worth of applications each month. In February, they only matched 9 days of applications. This covers applications with log-in-dates (LID) through 10/24/05. Our LID is 10/27/05. So they just missed us by three days.

In March, both statistically and our agency indicate that we would be included in the month of March's processing/matching. To the shock of everyone who is waiting, their mother, and her dog, CCAA processed only 2 days worth of applications. Yes, TWO days. That covers LIDs through 10/26/05. They missed us again!

In April, unless they shut down the adoption program or process partial days, we should be included. The match (a.k.a. referrals or 2nd Call) should be made known to us early May. However, CCAA is on holiday the first week of May...so we should hear sometime second week of May.

Because we have experienced so many anomolies lately, it is hard to predict what will happen. But we have our whole G115 to wait and vent with. We also have a whole online community (people who uses other agencies and/or reside in other parts of th world) where we share news and information. With that said, no official statements have been provided by CCAA that explains exactly why things have slowed down or when things will resume back to "normal."

In the mist heartbreak, frustration, sadness we found this quote that helped us put things back in perspective and are reminded that happiness is a choice.

". . . .the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances."

2nd Call delayed...

China has been slow and requires a couple more weeks before they are ready to send out Group 115 referrals. We've been anxious to find out who our little baby is just as you are! But the suspense must continue for just a little while longer.

Our travel time will also be extended a few weeks beyond what we were told at 1st Call. So we're looking at June 2007. All this is very unusual. The time between 1st and 2nd Call has never been this long, I believe, in the history of our agency. It's been said also that the total wait time has never been THIS long in the last 12 years of Chinese Adoption History.

Great, we're making history. Just great.

But really...what's a few weeks in one's life, right? We can do it standing on our hands!!

Good news is Zach got his new passport in the mail yesterday! So our agency will start our travel visa process as soon as we send them our passports.
